William and Kate celebrate 14 years of marriage on the Isle of Mull

Two-day visit to Scotland for the Dukes of Rothesay amid local craftspeople, university memories and a romantic dinner

Prince William and Princess Kate will spend their 14th wedding anniversary in a place full of personal significance: the Isle of Mull, on Scotland’s west coast. The couple, who met at the University of St Andrews, will return to the country where their relationship began for a two-day official visit, enriched by meetings with local craftsmen, farmers and residents.

They will stay in a self-catering cottage, presumably for intimate family time. According to reports, a romantic dinner is planned for Tuesday evening, although it has not been revealed which of the two will take to the cooker.

From Scotland with love: a story more than twenty years long
Together for more than twenty years, William and Kate were married on 29 April 2011 in Westminster Abbey, and today they are the parents of three children: George, Charlotte and Louis. After the recent months marked by the cancer treatments Kate has undergone, the couple appears closer than ever, strengthened by a bond built over time and sharing public and family responsibilities.

Tobermory, the heart of the royal visit
During their stay, the Dukes of Rothesay – their official title in Scotland – will stop in Tobermory, the island’s capital. Here they will visit a community hall that serves as a community centre for the local population and attend the Tobermory Producers Market, a market where they can sample local produce and meet local producers and artists.

The Isle of Mull, once part of the domains of the Lord of the Isles – a title now included among those inherited by William – is also a symbol of the monarchy’s Scottish roots. The visit, which has a strong symbolic and personal value, once again confirms the couple’s emotional bond with Scotland.
