President Trump issues a stern warning as Iran’s death toll rises and the internet remains shut down
Trump warning to Tehran – President U.S. issued a strong warning to the Iranian regime: if authorities kill any more protesters, the United States will respond “very strongly.” The statement comes as anti-government demonstrations, which began in late December, continue to claim lives.
According to the Norwegian NGO Iran Human Rights (IHR), at least 45 people have died so far, including eight minors. The organization also reports hundreds injured and more than 2,000 arrested. Yesterday marked the bloodiest day of the protests to date, with 13 confirmed deaths. Official Iranian sources have reported at least 21 fatalities, including members of the security forces.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for “maximum restraint” and urged dialogue, emphasizing that “violent or coercive behavior must be avoided under all circumstances.”
Meanwhile, the monitoring group Netblocks confirmed that internet access has been completely shut down across the country, severely limiting communication and public access to information about the protests.
The Trump warning draws international attention to the situation in Iran, highlighting the global scrutiny over the increasing number of protesters killed and the ongoing crackdown.
