Israel: government meets to approve ceasefire agreement and hostage release

The Council of Ministers meeting is scheduled to take place today at 3.30 pm Israeli time and will precede the start of Shabbat

According to Israeli media, the Israeli Council of Ministers will meet today at 3.30 pm local time (2.30 pm in Italy) to approve the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages. The meeting, which will take place at the prime minister’s office in Jerusalem, will be held an hour before the start of Shabbat, the day of rest observed in Israel.

This important phase of negotiations is eagerly awaited, with the hope that the understanding will help reduce violence in the region and facilitate the release of those taken hostage.
