Narges Mohammadi in critical condition in Iran, lawyer says

The 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate, detained since December, was moved to hospital for heart complications

Narges Mohammadi in critical condition in Iran, lawyer says — Narges Mohammadi, the 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate detained in Iran since December, is “between life and death,” according to her lawyer, who raised alarm over her worsening health.
Mohammadi was transferred from prison to a hospital over the weekend due to heart complications, marking a significant deterioration in her condition.

Speaking at a press briefing in Paris, her attorney, Chirinne Ardakani, described the situation in stark terms. “We have never been so afraid for Narges’ life; she could leave us at any moment,” Ardakani said. “We are not only fighting for her freedom—we are fighting to keep her heart beating.”
No further details on her current medical status were provided.
