Elon Musk comments on Ceuta migrant crisis after border crossings
The owner of X compares the arrival of thousands from Morocco to “World War Z” and criticizes Europe’s migration policies
Elon Musk comments on Ceuta migrant crisis after thousands of people crossed from Morocco into Ceuta, the Spanish enclave in North Africa. The owner of X reacted to videos showing the arrivals and compared the situation to “World War Z,” the 2013 movie starring Brad Pitt about a global zombie outbreak.
“The situation is crazy, it looks like World War Z,” Musk wrote on X while sharing footage of the border crossings. “They are all men of military age, that means it is an invasion. Wake up before it is too late,” he added.
Musk’s comments followed the arrival of thousands of people from Morocco into Ceuta, with many reaching Spanish territory by swimming. The billionaire, who has repeatedly criticized European migration policies, used the episode to renew his attacks on the management of migration flows in Europe.
In another post, Musk wrote that “the entire budget of Spain will be destroyed by illegal migrants.” According to the entrepreneur, offering migrants free support at a level higher than the living standards available in most parts of the world would create a mechanism encouraging mass migration toward Spain.
“It is basic mathematics,” Musk wrote, arguing that such policies could lead to a movement involving “about 7 billion people.”
