US and Israel plan strikes on Iran energy sites
CBS reports coordinated targeting of energy infrastructure, with no final order yet from Donald Trump
The US and Israel plan strikes on Iran energy sites, according to a report by CBS citing unnamed sources, with both countries said to be coordinating potential military action targeting key infrastructure.
Israel has been informed of the plans and is working in coordination with the United States, the report said. However, former President Donald Trump has not yet issued a final order authorizing the operation.
The timing under consideration suggests a narrow window: both countries are aiming to conclude any action before markets open on Monday, raising the possibility that strikes could take place over the weekend.
According to the sources, the potential targets include energy infrastructure such as power plants and refineries, indicating a focus on Iran’s economic and industrial capacity.
No official confirmation has been issued, and the decision-making process remains ongoing.
