National Intelligence contradicts Trump on Iran nuclear program, passage omitted in Senate speech

Tulsi Gabbard’s written statement confirms Iran has not rebuilt uranium enrichment capabilities after June 2025 bombings, but the key point was not read aloud in the Senate

The National Intelligence has contradicted Donald Trump’s statements regarding Iran’s nuclear program, but the critical passage was omitted from the Senate floor during Tulsi Gabbard’s speech.

In a written statement submitted to the Senate, Gabbard noted that Iran has not attempted to rebuild its uranium enrichment programs following joint bombings by Israel and the United States in June 2025. According to Gabbard, “As a result of Operation Midnight Hammer, the Iranian uranium enrichment program was obliterated: there have been no attempts since then to rebuild uranium enrichment capabilities.”

The statement directly contradicts the rationale given by Trump, who had described an imminent nuclear threat from Iran. However, Gabbard did not read this portion during her Senate address. When Democratic Senator Mark Warner, who had a copy of the original National Intelligence statement, pointed out the omission and asked if it had been deliberate due to the president’s remarks, Gabbard replied, “No, I just saw that I had gone on too long and skipped some sections.”

The incident highlights a discrepancy between the National Intelligence assessment and Trump’s public statements, leaving the official perception of Iran’s nuclear threat unresolved.
