Maduro photo on U.S. warship posted by Trump

The image shared on Truth Social shows the Venezuelan leader handcuffed aboard the USS Iwo Jima

A Maduro photo on U.S. warship has been posted by former President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account, drawing immediate international attention.

The image shows Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro aboard the U.S. military vessel USS Iwo Jima, reportedly en route to the United States. Maduro appears handcuffed, wearing a grey tracksuit and large dark protective glasses. He is also seen wearing headphones and holding a small plastic water bottle without a cap.

According to the information accompanying the image, Maduro was captured overnight in Caracas during a U.S. special forces operation carried out together with his wife. No additional operational details were provided alongside the post.

Sources cited by ABC News report that Maduro is expected to be taken first to the U.S. military base at Guantanamo Bay, before being transferred onto an FBI aircraft bound for New York.

The Maduro photo on U.S. warship, shared directly by Trump, marks the first visual confirmation of the Venezuelan leader’s detention following the overnight operation. As of now, no official statement has been released by Venezuelan authorities regarding the image or Maduro’s current legal status.

Further details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
