Thomas Markle Arrested in Florida in Child Sexual Abuse Material Probe

The 82-year-old father of Meghan was reportedly taken into custody by FBI agents at a senior living facility. Investigators are also examining evidence seized in Mexico and the Philippines

The investigation into alleged child sexual abuse material linked to Thomas Markle has reached the United States. The 82-year-old father of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, was arrested by FBI agents at a senior living facility in Lakeland, Florida, according to the Daily Mail, which cited a source familiar with the case.

Markle was staying at Maravida Senior Living after returning to the United States. The former Hollywood cinematographer has consistently denied any allegations against him.

The arrest follows the discovery of material in properties Markle had rented in Mexico. According to the Daily Mail, FBI agents found about 20 boxes containing photographs, publications, computer equipment and VHS tapes. Among the material, the newspaper reported, were images depicting the sexual abuse of minors.

Mexican authorities seized computers, USB drives, videotapes and other potential evidence for forensic examination. The investigation is intended to establish the nature of the material and examine the contents of the electronic devices.

A separate investigation in the Philippines

A second inquiry was opened after Thomas Markle Jr., Markle’s son, reportedly found material suspected of depicting child sexual abuse among belongings at the family’s former residence in Cebu, the Philippines.

Philippine police confirmed that electronic devices recovered from the property contained explicit material depicting minors. Investigators are now examining the files.

The developments in Mexico and the Philippines form part of the broader series of inquiries surrounding material allegedly linked to Markle. The allegations have been denied by the 82-year-old, while the investigations and forensic examinations remain central to establishing the facts.
