Trump Bars CNN, MS NOW and Politico From the White House
The president accused the three outlets of publishing false reports and signaled that additional media organizations could be targeted
President Donald Trump announced Friday that CNN, MS NOW and Politico would be banned from the White House, accusing the three organizations of persistently publishing what he described as false reporting.
The decision was announced in a post on Truth Social, where Trump said the measure would take effect immediately.
In the message, the president renewed his attacks on the outlets, claiming their coverage amounted to a continuous stream of misinformation directed at him, his administration and the United States.
Trump also took aim at MS NOW’s recent rebranding from MSNBC, which he attributed to declining viewership and credibility. He further accused Politico of benefiting from an $8 million government subscription during the administration of Joe Biden, describing the arrangement as corrupt.
The president ended the statement with a warning that additional news organizations could face similar restrictions, writing that other outlets he considers responsible for spreading “fake news” may be next.
