President Donald Trump has escalated his long‑running feud with Robert De Niro by posting an AI‑generated image of the actor holding a red shirt printed with “Trump is my president.” The photo, shared on Truth Social, shows De Niro gripping the shirt in front of his body — not wearing it — and is unmistakably artificial.
Trump accompanied the fabricated image with a taunt aimed directly at the actor. “Even this idiot is starting to get it,” he wrote, using the AI creation to mock De Niro and imply, sarcastically, that the actor had reversed his stance on him.
The jab lands in the middle of a feud that has stretched across years and public stages. De Niro has repeatedly denounced Trump, calling him a “racist, misogynistic and xenophobic tyrant” during a speech last June. He has long argued that Trump poses a threat to American democracy. Trump has responded with equal force, often targeting De Niro personally — and the AI image marks his latest attempt to provoke the Hollywood legend.
De Niro has not commented on the post, which quickly circulated online and drew attention to Trump’s use of AI‑generated images as a political weapon. For now, the doctored photo stands as the newest flashpoint in a rivalry that shows no sign of cooling.
