Suspect Tyler Robinson allegedly admitted to the crime in a private chat on Discord a few hours before turning himself in

Two people familiar with the conversation and screenshots obtained by the Washington Post reveal that the 22-year-old suspect in Charlie Kirk’s murder allegedly wrote to friends: “Hey guys, I have bad news for all of you. It was me yesterday at UVU. I’m sorry about all this.” The message, sent on Thursday evening, was sent about two hours before authorities announced Robinson’s arrest.

Cooperation with authorities
A member of the chat shared the image of the conversation with the newspaper, confirming that it came from Robinson’s account. Discord provided law enforcement with a copy of the message and is cooperating with the FBI and local authorities to reconstruct the young man’s online activities. The platform specified that an internal investigation had found no signs of planning or incitement to violence by the user.
