Trump Signals Imminent Decision on the US-Iran Conflict

The U.S. president says he is in a “decision-making phase” as tensions across the Middle East rise, while leaving the door open to talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian

President Donald Trump said he is in a “decision-making phase” regarding the conflict between the United States and Iran and suggested that significant developments could emerge in the near future.

Speaking to Fox News’ chief foreign affairs correspondent, Trump said that “very important things” are expected to happen in the coming days as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue to dominate the regional security landscape.

According to the network, the president also remarked: “My question is: if and when I will blow up the entire nation. They had better behave themselves.”

At the same time, Trump said he would be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian after Tehran submitted a list of requests aimed at bringing the conflict to an end.

The comments came as Trump returned to the White House earlier than expected from Camp David. Reporters traveling with the president said he arrived in Washington at about 2 a.m. Italian time. The administration offered no explanation for the change in plans, having previously indicated that Trump would return on Sunday.

The revised schedule followed new tensions in the Middle East. The Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen said the Iran-backed group launched a ballistic missile toward Riyadh at dawn, after a fire broke out near the Saudi capital’s international airport.

Amid concerns over a broader escalation, the U.S. State Department and several American embassies issued security alerts for U.S. citizens. The advisories warned of “the potential for unforeseen escalation” and noted that the Iran-backed Houthis “have engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including against civilian airports.”

“This military conflict has the potential to intensify rapidly,” the State Department said in its warning. The notice also advised Americans outside the Middle East to “seriously reconsider travel to and from the region.”
