Tornadoes that have devastated several US states, including Missouri, Kansas and Mississippi, have claimed at least 34 lives. The warning continues in other southern regions

At least 34 people lost their lives in violent tornadoes that struck several US states, including Missouri and Kansas. Missouri is the state with the highest number of fatalities, with 12 people killed. In Kansas, a maxi pileup caused by a dust storm raised by the tornado led to the death of eight people and involved 55 vehicles.

Mississippi also suffered severe damage, with six deaths confirmed by Governor Tate Reeves. More than 250,000 homes in at least seven states were left without power due to the storms.

Tornado warnings also remain in effect in Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and Alabama, where authorities are urging citizens to pay close attention and follow emergency directives.
